Welcome!

Hi! My name is Stef, and welcome to The Flamingo Teacher Blog! I’m so glad you stopped by to check out my blog. I am a proud Mom of three beautiful children, wife of an outstanding and supportive husband, and first grade teacher to a wonderful class of little learners. In my free time (let’s be real-I don’t have much), I enjoy cooking, shopping, and creating teaching products. I started a blog, because I love sharing teaching tips, strategies, and ideas with fellow teachers. I am so blessed to have this opportunity to connect and collaborate with teachers all over the world.
You might be wondering how I came up with the name The Flamingo Teacher. Well, the name has a double entendre. I saw this quote and it really resonated with me. “Teach like a flamingo. Spend time with your flock. Find the right balance. Be flexible. Don’t get your feathers ruffled over little things. Be fabulous!” After reading this quote, I thought, that is the kind of teacher I aspire to be.
The second meaning is that if you follow that quote above, teacher or not, you are on your way to your best life! I strongly believe in the importance of spending time with your family and friends (your flock). I think we all need to find a good balance between, work, family, friends, and personal interests. We need to be flexible, because life can throw you some curveballs and resilience is key. Don’t let the little things bother you in life (easier said than done)!
I hope you will join me in my blogging journey as we grow and learn to live the fabulous life together!
Stay Fabulous!
Stef, Founder of The Flamingo Teacher
