As summer approaches, I find myself having to get creative with fun activities to keep my kids off screens. Our township pool is not opening this summer, fun indoor recreational facilities are closed, and trips to the mall are probably not going to happen. I came up with this summer quarantine bucket list for families to have fun despite the lingering worries over the coronavirus situation. I hope you will find some fun screen-free ideas to do with your family in this list! Enjoy!
- Make ‘smores.
- Host a family bingo night.
- Play a kid-version of Shark Tank! Have the kids come up with an idea for a business/invention and pitch it to their parents.
- Play (insert your town’s name here) Got Talent! Have them show off one of their talents to the judges (the parents).
- Family Lego Masters night: Give them 30 minutes to design something with legos and then judge their creations.
- Play with water balloons.
- Go out for ice cream.
- Go for a walk or a hike.
- Host a family comedy night.
- Have a dance party!
- Tie-dye!
- Paint a picture.
- Paint a rock.
- Bake something together.
- Play board games or card games.
- Play charades.
- Play pictionary.
- Make your own popsicles (lemonade pops are a favorite at our house)!
- Play hide-and-go-seek.
- Go fishing!
- Make a chutes and ladders game outside with chalk!
- Go biking!
